This section provides a guide to some of the wildlife you are likely to see on Kelling Heath, month by month. Timings vary from year to year, depending on the weather. The guide mentions only a small proportion of the wildlife that can be seen at any visit.

Also in this section there are lists of species identified so far within the SSSI. These lists are in an early stage and we hope to add to them.  The lists indicate who identified each species, either in the field or from a photograph or specimen. In many cases the identifier was the County Recorder for the group concerned. It is of great importance that species are identified accurately, though of course some mistakes may be made.

The lists show which species are illustrated by an image in the Photographs section. All images were taken within the SSSI or close by.  It is hoped that visitors to the heath will assist in adding to the species lists and images.
